CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES

Wildfires have burned over four million acres in California this season, destroying or damaging hundreds of homes and businesses. If you are looking for ways to help the victims of the wildfires, here are a few options.

Caldor Fire

The Red Cross: https://www.redcross.org/local/california/northern-california-coastal/ways-to-donate.html Shelters for evacuees are being run by the Red Cross. There may be future opportunities for food and other donations to be delivered to shelters, but people are currently being asked to leave roads free for emergency responders. Monetary donations can be made to the Red Cross

El Dorado Community Foundation: https://edcf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create?funit_id=1792 All donations will go directly to persons affected by the fire.

Dixie Fire

The Almanor Foundation: https://almanorfoundation.com/donate "The Almanor Foundation Wildfire Relief fund supports immediate, intermediate and long-term recovery efforts for wildfires affecting Plumas County residents, as well as preparedness efforts. The relief fund provides emergency relief and support through grants to nonprofits and agencies."

The North Valley Community Foundation: https://www.nvcf.org/wildfire-relief-and-recovery-fund "This fund exists to raise money to support nonprofits and agencies providing immediate assistance to evacuees, animals and others impacted by fires in our area. "

Plumas Bank: https://www.plumasbank.com/dixie-fire-fund "With the help of the Community Foundation, Plumas Bank has established The Dixie Fire Fund to provide emergency hardship support and community disaster relief to areas impacted by the wildfires. Plumas Bank will create an advisory council to oversee the distribution of donated funds to areas of need including local not-for-profit organizations in affected communities."
