The Jesse Tree Advent Devotional

The Jesse Tree is a 24-day practice that you can use to prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth at Christmas. In this way, it helps us enter more fully into the Church season of Advent which anticipates the coming of Jesus and this season of expectation. The Jesse Tree provides us with a tangible way to countdown and look towards Jesus’ coming through the stories of the Old Testament. Click on the title link above for more information.

The Jesse Tree

The liturgical season of Advent draws us in, inviting us to pay attention to the story. This season is the lead up to the birth of Jesus but it also points us to the hundreds of stories that came before – stories of shepherds, queens, grace and the faithfulness of God to his people.

We’d like to invite you and your family to walk through the Jesse Tree Advent devotional over the next 24 days. May you find grace in the story in unexpectedly abundant ways this Advent season.

Included in your Christmas bucket are:
1. A Jesse Tree devotional book and
2. A printout of the 24 ornaments for the next 24 days (color or decorate ornaments or make with clay
3. Twine and clips to hang ornaments. You can either hang these on twine or hang them as ornaments on a Christmas tree.
