Discussion Questions:

1. Who has been a "Moses" in your life- someone through whom you've heard God speak, even if you didn't recognize it at the time?

2. The Big Idea of the sermon is "God uses people (and 'plagues') to bring you closer to him." Think of a difficult or painful season in your life. In what ways did that hardship draw you closer to God or, like Pharaoh, did you find yourself resisting him instead?

3. There is a big difference between looking back fondly on hardship (hindsight) and the call to live "beyond hindsight.” Living beyond hindsight means to trust in God before we can see the good that will come. What's the difference between hoping something will turn out fine in retrospect, and actually trusting God in the middle of the hard moment?

4. The benefits of Christ's obedience, which secured God's ongoing presence with us, is our obedience imputed unto us. How does knowing that Jesus succeeded where Pharaoh (and we) often fail change the way you respond to God's voice today?
