We're excited to launch a Stephen Ministry at Grace Sacramento! Our Stephen Ministry's mission is to bring the transforming and healing love of Jesus to hurting and broken people by equipping Stephen Ministers to provide quality, confidential, one-on-one emotional and spiritual care and support.

FAQs

Q: What is Stephen Ministry?

A: Stephen Ministry is a ministry in our congregation in which trained and supervised laypeople, called Stephen Ministers, provide one-to-one Christian care to individuals facing life challenges. We are just beginning this ministry here at Grace Sacramento, and have begun training our first team of Stephen Ministers. Training continues through May 2025, and we plan to commission our Stephen Ministers on June 1, 2025.

Q: In what types of situations do Stephen Ministers provide care?

A: Stephen Ministers provide care to individuals facing difficult times in life--grief, cancer, divorce, financial difficulties, hospitalization, chronic illness, job loss, disability, a spiritual crisis, or other life struggles.

Q: How can I receive care from a Stephen Minister?

A: Our Stephen Ministers will be trained and ready to start meeting with care receivers in June 2025. Until then, please contact one of our pastors who can help you find the care you need.

Q: How can I get more information?

A: Talk to one of our Stephen Leaders (Kris Backus or Pastor Daniel), and they can tell you more. You can email us at stephenministry@wearegracesac.org.
